Slow Living, Slow Journey, Majia|Majia Township Cittaslow Application Launch Press Conference Successfully Concludes

On February 6, 2026, Majia Township successfully held the “Majia Township Cittaslow Application Launch Press Conference” at the culturally rich and naturally serene Taiwan Indigenous Peoples Culture Park. The event officially marked an important milestone as Majia Township moves toward international Cittaslow certification.

Under the leadership of Township Mayor Luo Qing-Ren, Majia Township has spent years continuously learning from domestic and international Cittaslow experiences. Through field exchanges and participation in international forums, the township has gradually built its own capacity for Cittaslow development. After careful evaluation and long-term preparation, Majia Township has officially launched its application for international Cittaslow certification, demonstrating a strong commitment to building a sustainable and livable community.

Today, in a plaza surrounded by camphor trees, the event opened with a moving performance of Paiwan traditional songs by Chang Jung Catholic Elementary School and local singers. The venue also featured a Cittaslow-themed food experience combining local agricultural products and Indigenous cultural elements, allowing guests to personally experience Majia’s lifestyle rhythm of “slow living, slow food, and slow travel.”

Majia Township aspires to become the first Indigenous township in Taiwan to successfully obtain international Cittaslow certification in the future, bringing the Paiwan people’s precious natural ecology and cultural heritage to the international stage, and allowing the world to see “Cittaslow Majia.”
