The Cittaslow Taiwan Alliance is currently composed of 12 townships across Taiwan, all committed to promoting the core values of the international Cittaslow movement—creating friendly, sustainable, and slow-paced living environments.
Among these 12 member townships, six have officially been certified by the international Cittaslow organization: Fenglin, Sanyi, Nanzhuang, Dalin, Jhutian, and Chihshang. These certified members have demonstrated excellence in preserving local character, ecological sustainability, community engagement, and enhancing quality of life, making them key representatives of Cittaslow values in Taiwan.
The remaining six townships—Heping, Gukeng, Majia, Yuli, Luye, and Dongyin—are currently candidate members. While they have not yet received official certification, these townships are actively involved in improving their local environments and promoting the Cittaslow philosophy. Their strong commitment and potential continue to drive them toward future certification.
The Cittaslow Taiwan Alliance serves not only as a platform for implementing the Cittaslow vision, but also as a vital link connecting local revitalization, cultural preservation, and sustainable tourism. Through collaboration and experience-sharing among its members, the Alliance continues to deepen the value of “slowness,” shaping a lifestyle in Taiwan that is richer in quality and warmth.
